Wemby Wemby Wemby! – Knicks Take Game 1

Wemby! Did you see Wemby?! Wow that Wemby is all time! Wembyyyyy!

Knicks WIN game one.

That’s it. That’s the headline. While the national media was busy drooling over Victor Wembanyama, the New York Knicks went out and took Game 1 of the NBA Finals 105-95. Can we please shut up about this bag of bones french mutant who just so happens to be the tallest man on earth?

If you missed game 1 and didn’t watch the NBA Finals kick off Wednesday night, you might have actually thought the Spurs won the first game. But No. The New York Knicks won the game and the final score showed that they even won by 10 points.

But Wembyyy!!

If it wasn’t for the ridiculously soft foul calls they constantly give the biggest man in the NBA, the guy made 6 shots. 2 threes, and 4 twos. That’s it. Now the almighty Scott Foster and crew ended up giving the 7’10 golden child Wemby 12 points from the line. They were by far the softest, ticky-tack BS foul calls of the night. But WEMBY! The guy was getting soft calls all night while Brunson was getting bodied with no whistles.

The amount of coverage and slurp-fest that goes on within the sports media over this guy is absolutely outrageous. If you have a clue, and watched every play, the kid looked bad. As mentioned if the referee crew didn’t baby him to 12 points from the line, good ole Wemby would have had about 12 points. But instead the guy who seemingly was the only guy going to the foul line, ended with 26.

Jalen Brunson was the best player on the floor once again. He took some questionable hits, including a knee and ankle, but still delivered in the fourth with huge buckets and multiple 8-0 solo runs. The guy is a star.

Aside from Brunson, KAT was great on both ends. Playing really strong defense on Wemby! all night. Had a nice block late, and was avoiding his typical bonehead fouls. Wemby! was 2 for 11 when guarded by KAT – Robinson wasn’t even really needed in the game. Josh Hart couldn’t score but stepped up in a big way with a game high 15 rebounds. And they were impactful, big spots, big rebounds. KAT was constantly boxing out Wemby! and I think that allowed Hart to go grab these boards. OG was pretty bad throughout the game but ended up hitting 2 big threes late, which seemed like his first buckets of the night.

Knicks are 3 wins away from a Title. Wow. Great win of game 1 and this all time 12-game playoff winning streak continues! One more in TX and then we get to see what the MSG NBA Finals looks like in 2026.

LET’S GO KNICKS!
