The Browns Cannot get it Right
When I said Baker Mayfield would get looked at by the Browns with the 1st pick, (Can you seriously take Josh Allen 1st Article) I was joking. Well now, just like I said, the Browns once again couldn’t handle having a top pick, let alone picksss (#1 & #4) in this years draft.
Word on the street was that the Jets loved Baker as well and if he got to #3 they were going to take him. So if thats the case and the Browns were looking to take him at #4 and realized they couldn’t? Then fine. But I think the perfect situation there is that you take Barkley #1 so you guarantee yourself a stud running back and then you pick from whichever QBs fall into your lapp with the 4th pick. You take Barkley and let the other 2 picks that follow you figure out the QB mess, and then you have a choice from at least 2 of Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield or Josh Allen. All of those QBs ended up being top 10 picks and teams just traded up for Josh Allen (#7 Buffalo) and Rosen (#10 Zona). Worst case scenario you would have had to choose between Rosen andd Josh Allen to hand the ball off to Saquan and you have a brand new offense/backfield for 10 years.
But no, that’s too easy. Instead lets reach for a kid we could possibly get at #4. Then take a CORNERBACK??? What? You went from having a whole new young offense/backfield to Baker Mayfield and the next….who?…Joe Haden? Browns just can’t get things right. Best case scenario this kid CB from Ohio State becomes Joe Haden who had a strong like five year run in pro bowls and then got cut when he was 29.

Also look at the moneyyy. You honestly want to pay a cornerback 30 Million?? Is that the best way to use your 4th pick and 30 M’s? Unless he’s Deion I’m not taking any cornerback #4 especially with all these star QB’s in the draft. It’s not a knock on the kid drafted, I just don’t think the value of his position is worth that money or pick.
The top 3 picks will make over $30 million. The No. 1 overall pick, Baker Mayfield, will make $32.6m all in.
